Suede Cam privacy policy.
Suede Cam is an iPhone camera app made by Sahil Saleem. It does not collect, store or share any personal data. Your photos stay on your iPhone.
The short version
- No accounts. You never sign in.
- No analytics, no tracking, no ads.
- No third-party SDKs.
- The app has no networking code, so nothing leaves your device.
What data Suede Cam collects
None. I don't collect your photos, your location, your contacts, your device identifiers or anything about how you use the app. There is no server on my side for the app to talk to, and the app never sends data anywhere.
Your photos
Photos you take with Suede Cam are processed on your iPhone and saved to your own Photos library. Suede Cam also keeps a built-in library inside the app so you can look at your shots and re-develop them with a different look. All of it stays on your device. I never see it and I can't access it.
Permissions the app asks for
iOS asks you before Suede Cam can use any of these. Here is what each one is for.
- Camera
- To take photos. Suede Cam can't work without it.
- Photo Library: add photos
- To save the photos you take to your Photos library.
- Photo Library: read and delete
- To delete a photo from your Photos library when you delete it in the app. Suede Cam doesn't use this access to upload or share anything.
You can change or withdraw any of these at any time in the Settings app on your iPhone.
Other services
Suede Cam doesn't include any third-party code. Apple's own services work as they always do and follow Apple's policies, not this one. For example, if you have iCloud Photos turned on, your Photos library, including photos Suede Cam saved to it, syncs the way you've set it up in iOS.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, I'll update this page and the effective date at the top before that version ships.
